BlueWillow, an AI image-generation platform, needed to grow fast and cheap in a crowded category. We ran the full growth engine, paid, organic, and community, and took it from 150,000 to 1.4M community members in roughly three months while cutting blended CAC from $3 to nine cents. It was later acquired by LimeWire.
AI image generation was getting crowded fast, and the winners were the products that built a community around them, not just a tool. BlueWillow had a strong product and a Discord server with 150,000 members, but it needed to scale that community into the millions without letting acquisition cost run away, in a category where paid competition was fierce.
We built and ran a multi-channel growth engine end to end. Paid came first: a Google Ads program across search, display, and video, with daily budgets that started high to build momentum and tapered as organic took over. Organic was the compounding layer, a three-month SEO push with SEO-friendly and multilingual content, How-To landing pages, YouTube sponsorships, technical SEO, and a backlink campaign. Community and social ran alongside, with a dedicated TikTok content strategy and regular engagement on Twitter.
The Discord community grew from 150,000 to over 1.4M in about three months, and blended CAC fell from $3 to $0.09. Paid alone onboarded 400,000 new users at a $1 CAC. The organic engine compounded underneath it: traffic climbed from 2,655 to 55,711 visitors a day, keywords ranking on Google went from 128 to 19,615, and branded search share rose from 26% to 92%. Social followed, with Twitter up 540% and TikTok built from scratch to 16,000 followers.
Fast growth and cheap growth are not opposites if the engine is built right. Paid buys early momentum, organic and community make it compound, and CAC falls as the compounding layer takes over. That is the same playbook whether the product is AI, consumer, or something else entirely. BlueWillow was later acquired by LimeWire.
